Meet the Teacher
Mrs. Carey Grove
My name is Carey Grove. I graduated from the Tuscarora School District in Franklin County. After high school, I attended Millersville University. I graduated from Millersville University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career at a private school, where I taught first grade.
Starting a family was very important to me, so for the next 15 years I dedicated my life to raising and educating my four children. When my youngest child was approaching kindergarten, I decided that it was time for me to get back into the education field. I became a substitute teacher for a year and a half and an Americorps tutor for 2 years.
In January of 2016, I was hired as a temporary interventionist at Shade Gap Elementary. I continued in this role for a year and a half. In 2017, I was hired full time as a third grade teacher at Rockhill Elementary. The following year I was transferred to my current second grade position. I love Rockhill and I love second grade!
I am currently taking classes at Wilson College focusing on Special Education.
As I said my family is very important to me. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 24 years. Together we have 4 children, i girl and 3 boys. Their ages are 20, 18, 14, and 12. We enjoy the outdoors and especially spending time on our farm. We have dogs, cats, miniature donkeys, and beef cattle.
